The Clos le Grand Beaupréau is a walled vineyard on a plateau of schist and volcanic rock, one of the highest and most windswept sites in Savennières. Vincent Ogereau and family, known for their organic farming and sensitive, low-intervention winemaking, treat this site with reverence—allowing the vineyard’s energy and mineral core to drive the wine.

The 2020 vintage brings both richness and structure: baked quince, yellow apple, and dried herbs give way to a dense, saline palate cut by racy acidity. Aged in large, neutral barrels, it gains volume and texture without any overt oak signature. It’s a wine that feels coiled and meditative—built for aging, but captivating already.

Pair with roasted poultry, lobster, or earthy vegetarian dishes. For lovers of white Burgundy, dry Riesling, or Chenin with soul and grip, Clos le Grand Beaupréau 2020 is a stunning, age-worthy Loire white with depth and definition.

Professional Reviews

Antonio Galloni

AG 93
"An intense and tangy style bursting with acid-drive and energy. The 2020 Clos le Grand Beaupreau was fermented in 500-litrer barrels (2/3rds) and (1/3rd) in amphora. Due to the sandy soils on top of schist, it's a light to mid-weight style that floats along the palate, yet has an unrelenting power. Expect pear, apple and even a note of white pepper." -Rebecca Gibb MW
