Les Jeunes Rois occupies vines from 1952 just below the Champ lieu-dit, technically within Brochon borders but carrying Gevrey's character. More powerful than Duroché's village wine, this cuvée offers riper fruit and denser tannin structure while maintaining the domaine's signature freshness and mineral tension. The 2023 displays dark cherry and violet fruit with an underlying earth note, delivering medium-full body and grip that makes it the most age-worthy wine in the portfolio.

"Bottled mid-December, the 2023 Gevrey-Chambertin Les Jeunes Rois, from vines planted in 1953, is 100% de-stemmed using a pied de cuve at the start of fermentation. The nose has kicked in nicely since I tasted it from barrel. Plump red cherries and blackcurrant scents seem to have developed a little more va-va-voom. The palate is medium-bodied with pliant tannins, very pure and silky in style, just a touch of sour cherry imparting tension. With fine persistence towards the finish, this is a delightful "young king."" —Neal Martin
