Latricières-Chambertin joins Charmes, Griotte, and Chambertin Clos de Bèze as Duroché's Grand Cru holdings—one of the nine Gevrey-Chambertin Grand Crus representing the pinnacle of this commune's terroir. The 2023 shows elegant Pinot Noir with cool intensity, tones of red fruit, spices, and stony minerality. Seductive and light, combining finesse and depth—this is Pierre Duroché's refined hand applied to some of Burgundy's most prestigious terroir. Hand-harvested from organic and biodynamic vines, de-stemmed, natural yeast fermented, aged 15-16 months on fine lees with minimal new oak (15% max). Limited sulfur and copper use reflect the ultra-reasoned vineyard work and massal selection (preserving genetic diversity) that defines modern biodynamic practice. This wine will develop beautifully over decades.

Antonio Galloni

95 points

"The 2023 Latricières-Chambertin Grand Cru has more presence and depth on the nose than the Charmes-Chambertin. Like last year's vintage, it contains 15% whole bunch. Its bouquet features well-defined red fruit, undergrowth and light loamy scents. The palate is fresh, vibrant and medium-bodied with a bright entry. This is quite spicy toward the finish, with impressive length. It's lovely." —Neal Martin

Robert Parker

96 points

"The 2023 Latricières-Chambertin Grand Cru is lovely, wafting from the glass with notes of sweet plums, orange zest, petals and exotic spices. Medium to full-bodied, fleshy and sensual, with an ample core of fruit animated by lively acids and framed by melting tannins, it concludes with a precise, saline finish." —William Kelley

Decanter

96 points

"This is an elegant iteration of Latricières, with a ripe aroma of black plums and spice. There is a bit of the firm, flinty minerality of Chambertin, not surprisingly so, since the vines sit on the border, separated by only a small vineyard path. The texture does not seem as muscular as it has in previous vintages, with tannins that are firm but not overly so. This elegant wine should open in five to seven years and should drink well for another 30 beyond that."
