Clos La Néore is a single parcel within the famous Monts Damnés vineyard in Chavignol, a steep, chalky slope that produces some of the Loire Valley’s most precise and long-lived white wines. Edmond Vatan, and now his daughter Anne, have become near-mythic figures in Sancerre for their unwavering commitment to purity, patience, and perfectionism—producing only one wine, from one plot, in only the best vintages.

The 2014 vintage is classic Sancerre: cool, linear, and finely etched. After nearly a decade in bottle, this wine shows crystalline citrus, green apple, wet stone, and faint herbal complexity, with a salty, flinty undercurrent that stretches the finish endlessly. There’s no flash, no oak, no excess—just an unfiltered transmission of place and time.

Clos La Néore isn’t about varietal character—it’s about terroir. And in 2014, that message comes through with breathtaking clarity. A rare and meditative Sauvignon Blanc that’s aging with grace and quiet grandeur.
