Gaston Chiquet’s Champagne Rosé Brut NV is a delightful and sophisticated blend of Pinot Meunier, Pinot Noir, and Chardonnay, crafted with elegance and care. This rosé Champagne captivates with its delicate salmon-pink hue and a fragrant bouquet of wild strawberries, red cherries, and raspberries, complemented by floral hints of rose petals and a touch of orange zest. On the palate, it is vibrant and layered, offering flavors of ripe red berries, citrus, and a subtle note of spice, supported by a fine mousse and refreshing acidity. The finish is crisp, mineral-driven, and lingering, showcasing both finesse and charm.

Produced in the Vallée de la Marne, this Champagne reflects Gaston Chiquet’s dedication to sustainable viticulture and traditional winemaking methods. Grapes are hand-harvested from premier cru and grand cru vineyards, and the wine is made using the saignée method, extracting vibrant color and flavor from a brief maceration of Pinot Noir. Fermentation with indigenous yeasts and extended lees aging enhance the wine’s complexity and texture, while a carefully balanced dosage ensures harmony and elegance.

This rosé Champagne is a versatile pairing for dishes like duck breast, smoked salmon, or a selection of berry-topped desserts. Its bright, fruit-forward profile also makes it an excellent aperitif for celebrations or romantic evenings. Gaston Chiquet’s Rosé Brut NV is a perfect blend of refinement and pleasure, reflecting the artistry and terroir of its origins.

The Chiquet family has been growing grapes in the Pinot Noir-centric Vallée de la Marne since the mid-1700s, and they were among the first to make and bottle Champagne under their own name, in the aftermath of World War I. The very way we think of Champange today would not exist, were it not for the many generations of Chiquets devoted to their vines.

Each Chiquet Champagne, even the entry-level nonvintage wines, comes from Premier or Grand Cru sites within Champagne. Chiquet is perhaps best known for producing a singular, outstanding blanc de blancs Champagne from the Grand Cru Pinot Noir village of Aÿ; it manages to express both the mineral charm of Chardonnay-based Champagne and the unique terroir of the village.

Antonio Galloni

"The NV Brut Rosé is all charm. Crushed berries, flowers, mint and chalk give this NV Rosé plenty of energy to match its weightless, gracious personality. Disgorged: May, 2021." -Vinous

Robert Parker

RP 91
"Disgorged in July 2019, the latest release of Gaston Chiquet's NV Brut Rosé Premier Cru is showing very well, bursting with aromas of fresh peach, red berries, mint, green apples, rhubarb and pastry cream. On the palate, it's medium to full-bodied, crisp and fleshy, with a charming core of fruit, racy acids and a lingering, flavorful finish. This is an elegant, inviting Rosé based on Pinot Meunier." -Robert Parker

Champagne

Champagne boasts some of the world’s greatest luxury brands with Krug, Cristal and, of course, Dom Perignon. But it’s also home to hundreds of small dynamic producers—farmers who grow their own grapes (often organically) and make (often with natural methods) tiny amounts of pure and absolutely delicious wine that reflect the individual personalities of their villages and terroirs. Toast with these wines, for sure. But also treat them like the great wines they are: taste, drink, explore!
