Grounded & Unbound: Exploring the Chinese Wine Narrative, 2/9/2026

$40.00
When Camden Hauge of China Wine Club first came to our mezzanine to talk Chinese wine, the response was incredible: tickets sold out in less than two hours. Now, Camden is back, this time joined by Iris Yu of Fengtu Vinos to share a brand-new seminar on the wines of China, on Monday, February 9––just in time to celebrate the Lunar New Year.

Camden and Iris say:
Forget everything you assume about Chinese wine. This is not a story of imitating Bordeaux; it is the story of a new generation of winemakers engaged in a wrestling match with the elements. We are exploring a landscape of extremes: vines in Ningxia that must be buried manually to survive the winter, and vineyards in Shangri-La that sit higher than the Alps, nestled in the Himalayan foothills.

This evening is designed as a sensory ritual. Bringing a background in wine importing and a practice in mindfulness to the table, we will move beyond technical tasting notes and into the 'Silent Terroir.' Together, we will trace the arc of Chinese winemaking—from the ancient echoes of the Silk Road to the modern pioneers. The tasting journey will take us from the raw, joyous energy of experimental Pet-Nats, to the grounding depth of Gobi Desert biodynamics, and finally to the ethereal elegance of Cabernet grown at 2,600 meters. This is a rare chance to taste wines that are almost impossible to find in the Americas, including the cult-favorite natural wines of Xiaopu and the biodynamic legends at Silver Heights. Join us for storytelling, breathwork, and the most exciting, defiant wines on the planet.

The cost of this seminar is $40 and a $20 credit at the store will be extended to each guest for a future purchase. Seating is limited and special pricing on the featured wines will be made available only to attendees. We hope you can join us on the mezzanine at 6pm on Monday, February 9 for this special evening.
