Keermont is one of the brightest stars of Stellenbosch’s upper valleys, crafting mountain wines that emphasize elegance, restraint, and purity. Their 2017 Syrah is sourced from high-elevation sites where cooler temperatures and rocky soils give the wine a natural lift and structure.

The vintage itself—2017—was one of the Cape’s best in recent memory: a long, dry growing season yielding wines of clarity, freshness, and depth. Keermont’s Syrah is fermented with a portion of whole clusters, aged gently in old oak, and bottled with minimal intervention.

In the glass, it’s all violets, black cherries, cracked pepper, and a whiff of cured meat—pure Rhône soul with a distinctly South African brightness. The palate is sleek but powerful, with fine, grainy tannins and a long, mineral-drenched finish.

Built to age gracefully, but already stunning with a decant.

Pair with: grilled lamb, venison, mushroom stew, or charred vegetable platters.
