The second wine of Château L'Église-Clinet, crafted by the late Denis Durantou, one of Pomerol's most celebrated winemakers. The 2000 vintage showcases the appellation's signature richness with plush dark fruit, truffle, and spice notes. Merlot-dominant and velvety, reflecting the clay-gravel terroir that makes Pomerol wines so distinctive.

Robert Parker

85 points

"Tasted single blind at FINE magazine’s vertical in Dusseldorf. This is rather mushroom-y on the nose, the fruit intensity obscured by leathery, fungal, decayed aromas. The palate is simple, a little hard on the entry, rather hard tannins and lacking a little fresh towards the finish. This seems to be drying out and there is the first signs of volatility towards the finish. Tasted February 2011."

Wine Spectator

90 points

"Vivid aromas of berries, vanilla and chocolate. Full-bodied, with lovely silky tannins and a long rich finish. A beauty."
