The Stephans' everyday Syrah, declassified to Vin de France but made with the same hands and philosophy as their Cote-Rotie. Jean-Michel and Romain farm organically near Tupin and work without added sulfur, so this is honest, low-intervention Northern Rhone-style Syrah without the appellation price tag. Bright, peppery and immediate, it is built for the dinner table rather than the cellar. Think of it as the natural-wine house red from a serious Cote-Rotie address. Serve with a slight chill.
