Alberto Nanclares left an economics career to seek unwinding by the Atlantic in Rías Baixas, purchasing a house with vineyard land in 1992. After working with an enologist, he took full control in 2007, establishing an organic farming philosophy with a restrained cellar hand. His Alberto Nanclares bottling (the flagship, 100% Albariño from 10 organic parcels) blends vines ranging from 15-95 years old across mainly Cambados, Ribadumia, and Portas locations. Decomposed granite sands define the soils. Hand-harvested grapes are pressed pneumatically without destemming into 73% stainless steel and 27% French oak, then aged nine months on lees with weekly batonnage. The resulting wine speaks to Rías Baixas' Atlantic-influenced character—transparent, terroir-driven, mineral-pure Albariño from a producer who left his career to pursue this singular expression.
