Philippe Gilbert, Menetou-Salon Rose, 2023 is backordered and will ship as soon as it is back in stock.

A gorgeous Pinot Noir rosé to please all palates — juicy and crisp enough for sipping poolside, complex enough to drink with dinner. Gilbert is one of the leading winemakers in Menetou-Salon, a neighbor to Sancerre and one of the Loire Valley's best-kept secrets for mineral-driven whites, reds and rosés.

Domaine Philippe Gilbert is one of the top producers in Menetou-Salon, a lesser-known AOC that borders Sancerre.
While obscure in comparison to its neighbor, Menetou-Salon has great terroirs; Gilbert's fantastic wines – some of the region's very best – are proof.
The domaine is equally adept at producing both mineral, fine-boned whites (Sauvignon Blanc) and silky, noble reds (Pinot Noir), both of which impress even at the entry-level domaine bottlings.
Grapes are hand-harvested and farming is biodynamic.

What importer Rosenthal Wine Merchant has to say about this wine...

Philipppe Gilbert’s rosé, 100% Pinot Noir sourced from vines in Parassy, is replete with a sense of vinosity that is nearly outside category. The thing that really thrills in this wine is its energy, a bracing kinetic drive that feels like biting into cool, fresh, ripe fruit right off the vine. This Rosé is vinified using the direct press method following the same principles as the process used for making the white wine.

Loire Valley Wines

The Loire Valley is France’s greatest source of value for anyone looking for elegant, terroir-driven wines. Our collection celebrates the region’s great diversity, with the mineral-driven whites of Muscadet and Sancerre, the beautiful Chenin Blancs and Cabernet Francs from villages like Vouvray and Chinon, and natural wines from everywhere in the region. Sometimes wonderfully fresh and gulpable, sometimes serious and age-worthy, the prices are always very reasonable.
