Michel Brégeon helped define what serious Muscadet could be. Long before the region’s recent revival, he was farming old vines on gabbro soils and aging his wines on lees for texture and depth—treating Melon de Bourgogne with the same care Burgundians give to Chardonnay. Though the domaine now continues under Fred Lailler, Brégeon’s legacy lives on in this beautifully detailed 2022.

It’s everything Muscadet should be—clean, saline, and dry—but there’s more beneath the surface: a subtle, leesy roundness, a quiet herbaceous edge, and a mineral core that carries through the finish. Grown on volcanic soils and aged sur lie, it has the clarity and cut to handle any shellfish you throw at it, but enough depth to go beyond the raw bar. For lovers of restraint, place, and wines that don’t need to shout.
