Thierry Germain has redefined what’s possible in Saumur, elevating his biodynamic domaine, Roches Neuves, into one of the Loire’s most essential addresses. Clos Romans, a walled vineyard of pure limestone, is his crown jewel for Chenin Blanc, producing wines of remarkable tension and depth. The 2020 vintage continues this tradition, a study in precision where ripeness, acidity, and minerality are in perfect sync.

Unlike broader, more honeyed expressions of Chenin, Clos Romans is all about restraint and energy. The limestone soils give a razor-sharp cut, framing delicate notes of citrus oil, white flowers, and wet stone.
