Romain le Bars brings his light, joyful touch to everything he makes, and this Roussanne Pétillant Naturel is no exception. Based near Tavel in the southern Rhône, Romain farms organically and vinifies naturally, letting each grape—and each site—express itself with minimal intervention.
This 2022 vintage pét-nat is crafted from 100% Roussanne, a grape better known for rich, still whites, but here transformed into something lively and feather-light. Wild-fermented and bottled during fermentation for natural bubbles, the wine opens with notes of ripe golden apple, apricot, chamomile, and savory herbs, layered over a creamy, frothy texture. There’s just a hint of funk and a salty mineral edge that makes it endlessly drinkable.
Slightly hazy and buzzing with energy, this is pét-nat for those who like their bubbles natural, expressive, and full of life.
