Robert Parker

90 points

"This is a fabulous version of Ruinart’s NV Brut Blanc de Blancs. The wine seems fresher, more vibrant and less obviously sweet than in the past, all of which makes this a far more interesting wine. The trademark profile of lemon, jasmine and green apples is very much in the forefront while the wine’s textural finesse and length are both first-class. This release of the NV Brut makes a great introduction to the wines of Ruinart, Champagne’s oldest house. This is Lot LAGJSAF. Anticipated maturity: 2011–2014."

Decanter

91 points

"This blanc de blancs (100% Chardonnay) is sourced mostly from the Côte des Blancs and Montagne de Reims, including a portion of premier cru vineyards. It has a lean, lemon and apple bite backed up by some smooth creaminess. It's fuller in body than stablemate Veuve Clicquot, displaying good acidity and power." —Jim Beam

Wine Spectator

93 points

"Fresh, with focus and intensity, this nonetheless elegant Champagne is finely knit and minerally, offering flavors of crunchy white peach, toast and lemon curd, accented by aromatic hints of cherry blossom, fresh tarragon and spice that linger on the creamy finish. Drink now through 2022."

Wine Enthusiast

92 points

"Crisp with a delicious line of acidity and ripe with apple and lemon flavors, this wine balances freshness with hints of maturity from aging in Ruinart's subterranean cellars. It's both taut with the tension of cool-climate Chardonnay & showing signs of toastiness."

More about Ruinart

Ruinart is literally the oldest Champagne house, founded in 1729 when Nicolas Irénée Ruinart capitalized on a new law allowing wine transport in bottles. Exclusively Chardonnay-based since day one. The cellars, acquired in 1768, are Gallo-Roman in origin—8 kilometers of chalk tunnels, 38 meters underground. LVMH owns it now, but Ruinart's entire philosophy has always been restraint, purity, and class. 1.7 million bottles a year, which is tiny for a Grande Maison. This is the blueprint.

Champagne

Champagne boasts some of the world’s greatest luxury brands with Krug, Cristal and, of course, Dom Perignon. But it’s also home to hundreds of small dynamic producers—farmers who grow their own grapes (often organically) and make (often with natural methods) tiny amounts of pure and absolutely delicious wine that reflect the individual personalities of their villages and terroirs. Toast with these wines, for sure. But also treat them like the great wines they are: taste, drink, explore!
