"Deep, bright ruby. Subdued, vibrant aromas of blueberry, dark cherry, licorice, mint and spicy, cooling eucalyptus and camphor. Densely packed and a bit youthfully musclebound but light on its feet, with the fruit and resiny elements currently dominated by the wine's strong acidity and rather powerful tannins. "Elaborate and impressive, in the manner of Sean Thackrey, a big, rich, alcoholic wine with massive flavors. The blackberries and currants are swamped with black pepper and various exotic spices, and the finish is thoroughly dry. There’s nothing shy or subtle about this wine, but it does express what California’s sun does so well."
