Ultramarine Blanc de Blancs 2020 comes from the Heintz Vineyard, a high-elevation site just a few miles from the Pacific, where old-vine Chardonnay develops intense acidity and quiet depth. Made by Michael Cruse using labor-intensive, traditional methods—fermentation in barrel, aging under cork, long tirage, and low dosage—this wine mirrors the detail and nuance of top Champagne, while expressing a uniquely Californian voice.

The 2020 vintage shows off lemon curd, brioche, green apple skin, and sea spray, with a creamy mousse and laser-focused mineral finish. There’s texture from barrel aging, but no heaviness—just balance and finesse. It’s serious but not austere, and ready to age if you can hold off opening it.

Rarely seen outside of mailing lists and top cellars, this is a bottle that turns heads and starts conversations.
