Straight-down-the-middle Albarino from Rias Baixas, the grape's Atlantic homeland in Galicia. Chan de Rosas draws this from the Salnes Valley in Pontevedra, the cooler, sea-sprayed heart of the region, where granite soils and a damp ocean climate give Albarino its trademark zip and salinity. The wine spends time on its lees for a little extra texture and breadth without losing its briny snap. This is the everyday version, built for freshness and drinkability rather than oak or weight. More about Chan de Rosas

Chan de Rosas makes Albariño in Rías Baixas, with winemaker Sergio Millán and Marcos Lojo, a Rías Baixas winemaker since 1995, behind it. The vines, 20 to 40 years old, grow near the Arousa inlet on shallow, sandy soils from eroded granite, trained on traditional granite trellises. Grapes are hand-harvested and fermented with native yeasts in stainless steel, with partial malolactic and weekly lees stirring for texture. The result is classic coastal Albariño with depth and salinity.
