This is honest, well-priced red Burgundy from one of the Cote d'Or's larger family domaines, sourced high up above the Cote de Nuits where cooler air keeps the fruit fresh. The Guyon Hautes Cotes de Nuits comes from a south-facing hillside in Meuilley on clay-limestone soils, hand-harvested and aged in a mix of barrel and large oak foudre, which keeps oak influence light. The altitude shows in the wine's lift and minerality. A reliable everyday Pinot Noir with the floral, red-fruited character of the region. Drink it now over the next few years.
