Cigluiti, Barbaresco 'Serraboella', 2021
is backordered and will ship as soon as it is back in stock.
The Serraboella cru in Neive is known for producing some of the most structured and long-lived Barbarescos, and the 2021 vintage from Cigliuti captures that power with finesse. The Cigliuti family, farming this hillside for generations, is known for a meticulous approach—low yields, organic methods, and a balance between traditional and modern winemaking. Their Barbaresco Serraboella offers both immediate appeal and serious aging potential.
This is a darker, more muscular expression of Barbaresco compared to the lighter, more floral styles from Treiso or Barbaresco village. Black cherry and dried raspberry lead the aromatics, with layers of violets, licorice, and crushed stone adding depth. The tannins are firm but finely textured, giving the wine structure without overwhelming its elegance. Compared to Cigliuti’s Vie Erte bottling, Serraboella has more power, more grip, and a longer evolution in the bottle.
For those who love structured, cellar-worthy Nebbiolo, this is an essential bottle. While already showing complexity, it will truly shine with 10–20 years of aging. Pair with braised meats, truffle dishes, or aged cheeses to bring out its full potential. A standout from one of Barbaresco’s great crus.
