Cigliuti, a small, family-run estate in Neive, is one of the quiet stars of Barbaresco, crafting wines that beautifully capture the finesse and structure of their terroir. Serraboella, their flagship cru, is known for producing some of the most powerful and age-worthy Barbarescos, thanks to its steep, south-facing slopes and limestone-rich soils. The 2021 vintage, marked by excellent ripeness and fresh acidity, delivers a wine of remarkable clarity and balance.
Bright cherry, raspberry, and dried rose petals lead the way, underscored by hints of anise, crushed herbs, and a stony minerality. The tannins, firm yet refined, frame the wine’s elegant fruit while promising long-term aging potential. While already expressive with extended aeration, this will only deepen over the next decade.
