Vietti, Barolo Monvigliero, 2019 (1.5L)
is backordered and will ship as soon as it is back in stock.
Monvigliero is widely considered the grand cru of Verduno, known for producing Barolo with Burgundian grace—more floral and refined than muscular. Vietti’s 2019 debut vintage from this site blends their meticulous farming and cellar precision with the site’s natural elegance, resulting in a wine of remarkable balance and complexity.
The 2019 shows rose petal, sour cherry, white pepper, and dried herbs, with a whisper of mint and iron on the finish. Tannins are fine but firm, supported by fresh acidity and a long, detailed finish. Vinified with a portion of whole clusters and aged in large oak botti, it honors tradition while staying distinctly Vietti.
In 1.5L format, the wine gains even more aging potential and presentation flair, making it ideal for collectors or celebratory pours.
Pair it with truffle risotto, duck breast, or slow-cooked lamb, or cellar it for 10–20 years to watch its layers unfold.
