Meix Chavaux sits on Meursault's southern flank, tilted toward Puligny, where the terroir shifts toward freshness and delicate structure. This lieu-dit's cooler exposure and lighter clay-limestone balance mean a wine of surprising vibrancy for the appellation—where Charmes and Genevrières can be opulent, Meix Chavaux channels restraint and mineral precision. The 2023 opens with white flower and citrus, layering in subtle almond and flint notes with a crystalline finish. This is Meursault at its most elegant.

Professional Reviews

Antonio Galloni

AG 93
"The 2023 Meursault Meix Chavaux hails from four parcels and is a little more austere than Roulot's other cuvées at the moment. It has a tensile bouquet, with touches of petrichor and flint. The palate is well balanced, with a vivacious opening, a keen thread of acidity, hints of stem ginger and impressive depth on the finish. I can see the potential here. This is one of Roulot's strongest Village Crus in 2023." -Neal Martin

Robert Parker

RP 91
"Aromas of pear, white flowers, green apple and orange zest introduce the 2023 Meursault Meix Chavaux, a medium to full-bodied, satiny and ample wine that's chalky and saline." -William Kelley

Burgundy has long been the world's most famous wine region. But, underneath all the prestige, this region can be hard to get to know.

While Burgundy offers many great trophies from top producers in well-known villages like Vosne Romanee and Puligny Montrachet, it also offers excellent values to anyone willing to explore beyond the famous names. Our collection– one of the largest in the U.S. – has plenty of both!

From the very basics of Burgundy's regions and wines to the specific terroirs of individual single vineyards--
