What is this wine?
Prima Piuma is a Piedmont project focused on approachable, everyday expressions of the region’s classic grapes. This bottling comes from Nebbiolo grown in the Monferrato hills, an area east of Barolo and Barbaresco where Nebbiolo thrives but wines are made in a more relaxed, earlier-drinking style.
Why get this wine?
Nebbiolo is best known for Barolo and Barbaresco, but those wines can be expensive and require years of aging. Monferrato Nebbiolo offers a lighter, more affordable entry point, with all the variety’s signature aromatics—rose, cherry, spice—without the wait. Prima Piuma delivers great value for everyday drinking while staying true to the grape’s character.
What does this wine taste like?
Medium-bodied, with bright red cherry, raspberry, and rose petal layered over hints of licorice and earthy spice. Tannins are gentler than in Barolo, making the wine smooth and versatile, with fresh acidity on the finish.
When should you drink this wine?
Enjoy now through 2026. Perfect with pizza, pasta with tomato sauce, grilled poultry, or cured meats. A Nebbiolo you can open any night of the week.
