Domaine Georges Roumier’s 2023 Village-level Chambolle‑Musigny is crafted from multiple parcels across the appellation's eastern slopes, celebrated for producing some of Burgundy’s most graceful and mineral-driven Pinot Noir. The vineyard spans roughly 3.5 hectares on clay-limestone soils, yielding wines of evident elegance and sensuality.

Hand-harvested and sorted grapes are fermented with native yeasts, destemmed at about 70–90%, then aged 14 months in oak barrels (10–15% new), without fining or filtration—preserving texture, aromatics, and site expression. The result is graceful and vibrant, radiating red cherry and currant with subtle floral nuance, tension, and a lithe, refined profile.

Professional Reviews

Antonio Galloni

AG 92
"The 2023 Chambolle-Musigny Village includes around 50% stems imparting a pleasant pepperiness on the nose. It includes a mixture of well-defined red and black fruit with plenty of character. The palate is fleshy and medium-bodied with a licorice-tinged entry and good density on the finish. This is utterly delicious." -Neal Martin

Robert Parker

RP 92
"The 2023 Chambolle-Musigny Village is beautifully perfumed, soaring from the glass with scents of orange zest, raspberries and rose petals, followed by a medium to full-bodied, supple and sensual palate. Readers might wish to think of it as an amalgam of the aromas and finesse of the 2021 and the flesh and texture of 2022." -William Kelley

Burgundy has long been the world's most famous wine region. But, underneath all the prestige, this region can be hard to get to know.

While Burgundy offers many great trophies from top producers in well-known villages like Vosne Romanee and Puligny Montrachet, it also offers excellent values to anyone willing to explore beyond the famous names. Our collection– one of the largest in the U.S. – has plenty of both!

From the very basics of Burgundy's regions and wines to the specific terroirs of individual single vineyards--
