The flagship of California's limestone dream. Josh Jensen planted Jensen Vineyard in 1975, the first vines on Mt. Harlan and the namesake of the man who spent years searching California for the kind of calcareous soils that make Burgundy Burgundy. The 2008 is pure Josh Jensen era — nearly a decade before Duckhorn acquired the estate in 2017, and made in a frost-shortened vintage that yielded small, intensely concentrated berries. Seventeen years on, the wine has unwound into classic mature Mt. Harlan Pinot: black cherry settling into forest floor, dried raspberry, a wisp of dried herb, that cool-climate limestone seam threading through everything. Drinking at peak now. A piece of California Pinot history from one of its most quietly visionary producers.

Tasting Profile

Medium to medium-full bodied, fully mature. Dried black cherry, raspberry, forest floor, dried herb, sweet earth, soft oak, mineral lift. Silky texture, resolved tannins, persistent graceful finish.
