From Guillaume Camus of Savigny-les-Beaune, this appellation-level white offers entry into one of the Côte de Beaune's most thoughtful producers. Guillaume's philosophy centers on vineyard work rather than cellar manipulation—he believes the wine is made in the fields. The Camus family's heritage includes old vineyard holdings planted by Reine Joly (Guillaume's great-grandmother) around World War I, contributing depth and character even to their regional bottlings. The 2023 Bourgogne Blanc reflects this commitment to quality viticulture, with minimal new oak (never exceeding 25% even for top wines) and restrained cellar practices allowing the Chardonnay to speak. This is approachable white Burgundy with substance.

"The 2023 Bourgogne Côte d'Or Blanc is a debut for the Domaine that was previously sold to négoce. It has an effervescent, slightly Muscat-like nose, well defined with hints of tropical fruit. The palate is nicely balanced with a slightly honeyed entry, fine weight and peachy notes toward the finish. Fine, but early-drinking." —Neal Martin

More about Camus-Bruchon

Guillaume Camus is one of the most sure-handed winemakers in the Côte de Beaune, based in Savigny-les-Beaune rather than the famous villages that command premium prices. His Chorey-lès-Beaune 'Le Grand Saussy' is fleshy and complex from the start, and it's one of the great bargains in red Burgundy. Hand-harvested, fermented with indigenous yeasts, the fruit comes from organically farmed vines, and the result is brilliant wine at genuinely accessible prices. Chorey-lès-Beaune is the last bastion of affordable red Burgundy, and Camus-Bruchon is the reason.
