The 2021 vintage showcases Caymus's signature style: dark in color, rich in fruit, with ripe tannins that dissolve into a velvety texture. Drawing from vineyards across Napa's diverse sub-appellations—from Coombsville to Calistoga—the wine balances the mountain backbone of hillside fruit with the sensuous character of valley-floor vineyards. The composition is pleasure-packed from the outset: black cherry and mountain blueberry preserves, crème de cassis, and eucalyptus spice all arrive with a super-silky mouthfeel. A wine built equally for near-term enjoyment and graceful cellar aging through 2034.
