Laroche's flagship Chablis, the wine that defines the house. Domaine Laroche is one of Chablis's largest and most consistently excellent producers, working close to 100 hectares across the appellation, and Saint Martin draws from the very best plots in their portfolio. Named for the historic Obediencerie de Saint Martin where Laroche has its cellars, this is Chardonnay on ancient limestone soils studded with fossilized seashells and coral, the textbook Chablis terroir. The 2022 was a warm but balanced vintage rescued by timely summer rains, and under winemaker Gregory Viennois the team kept harvest dates conservative to preserve the appellation's signature freshness. The result is generous yet detailed: white peach, ripe pear, and nectarine framed by a quintessential mineral spine, with the chalk, white flowers, and salinity that make great Chablis instantly recognizable.
