Tucked into a narrow valley west of Meursault, Combe Bazin sits at altitude, where morning light is soft and ripening comes slow. It’s not a flashy site—but in the hands of David Croix, it becomes a study in restraint. Farming is organic, winemaking is discreet, and the goal is always the same: let the vineyard do the talking.

The 2022 vintage speaks with clarity. There’s tension here, but no sharp edges; generosity, but no excess. It doesn’t lean on oak or ripeness—it leans on limestone. The result is a white Burgundy that doesn’t ask for attention but earns it anyway, quietly and over time.

Combe Bazin is for those who listen closely. A wine that doesn’t announce itself, but lingers long after the glass is empty.

If you aren't with familiar with Domaine des Croix, there is one thing you should know: we love David Croix! He begin his winemaking career straight out of viticulture school when he took over the reigns at Camille Giroud (as well as working with Guy Roulot), when he was just 24 years old. In 2016 he quit his day job to focus entirely on his own small domaine, which he purchased back in 2005.

Focus On: Burgundy

Burgundy has long been the world's most famous wine region. But, underneath all the prestige, this region can be hard to get to know.

While Burgundy offers many great trophies from top producers in well-known villages like Vosne Romanee and Puligny Montrachet, it also offers excellent values to anyone willing to explore beyond the famous names. Our collection– one of the largest in the U.S. – has plenty of both!

From the very basics of Burgundy's regions and wines to the specific terroirs of individual single vineyards--
everything you need to know about Bourgogne is just a click away!
