More about Doyard

The Doyard family's roots in Champagne go back to the 17th century, and Maurice Doyard made the first wine under the family label in Vertus in 1927. Today the domaine farms 10 ha in Vertus and the Grand Cru villages of Le Mesnil, Cramant, Oger, Avize and Aÿ. The farming is organic in practice, most of the vineyards are worked by horse, and yields are kept intentionally low, adding to the focused intensity that defines the house style. In the cellar, every cuvée gets a minimum of 48 months on the lees, lending a vinous depth. Every decision is aimed at the most expressive, terroir-focused Champagne possible.

Champagne

Champagne boasts some of the world’s greatest luxury brands with Krug, Cristal and, of course, Dom Perignon. But it’s also home to hundreds of small dynamic producers—farmers who grow their own grapes (often organically) and make (often with natural methods) tiny amounts of pure and absolutely delicious wine that reflect the individual personalities of their villages and terroirs. Toast with these wines, for sure. But also treat them like the great wines they are: taste, drink, explore!
