Chateau de Chorey was a great domain with some of the oldest vines in Beaune's top premier cru vineyards. The last vintage was 2009 when the winemaker passed. Benoit Germain was a meticulous grape farmer and his wines are redolent of the perfect ripeness he achieved. He farmed organically, some vineyards were farmed biodynamically, yields were kept low, and the wines were never fined or filtered. His wines are very clean and transparent with great purity—they reflect the outstanding terroirs of Beaune 1er Cru Les Cras, Vignes Franches and Les Teurons.
