From one of Burgundy's most storied addresses comes this village wine with serious pedigree. Forey's Vosne-Romanée draws from 14 parcels covering over one hectare, with vines dating to 1942 and the majority exceeding 40 years. Founded in 1840, the domaine borders legendary Premier Cru sites including Petits Monts (above Richebourg) and Les Gaudichots (alongside La Tâche). Traditional vinification: cold maceration, extended cuvaison, 16-20 months in oak (20-50% new), bottled unfined and unfiltered. The 2023 promises the characteristic elegance, red and black fruits, and earthy minerality that define this jewel of the Côte de Nuits. Best from 2026 onward; cellar potential through 2035+."The class of Juliénas"—NY Times. Fourth-generation estate, 60-year vines, blue stone terroir. Indigenous yeasts.

Professional Reviews

Burghound

BH 91
"There is plenty of Vosne spice suffusing the ripe aromas of various red berries, poached plum and a discreet application of wood. There is more volume still to the delicious and slightly denser middle weight flavors that possess a beguiling mid-palate succulence before concluding in a lingering and balanced finale. To be clear, this isn't especially concentrated but neither is it light."

What importer Rosenthal Wine Merchant has to say about this wine...

Forey farms 14 separate parcels that cover together a bit more than one hectare to create the village Vosne-Romanée. Most of the vineyards are on the northern side of Vosne bordering Vougeot. The oldest parcel was planted in 1942 and the major portion of this wine is from vines in excess of 40 years of age. Forey ages this wine in a mix of small barrel and demi-muid.
