Alta Alella sits just north of Barcelona in the Alella hills overlooking the Mediterranean, farming organically on the sandy, granitic soil the locals call sauló. The Pujol-Busquets family makes a restless range: organic estate Cavas like the long-aged Mirgin Brut Nature built on Pansa Blanca (the local Xarel·lo), a Mataró rosé Cava, still wines and low-intervention bottlings that refuse to be pinned down by a single category. Borderline chaotic and utterly alive.
