Domaine du Tunnel is best known for its structured, mineral-driven Cornas, but L'Argonier is their more playful, easygoing red. Made as a Vin de France, this 100% Syrah skips the heavy oak and extraction, instead delivering pure Norther Rhône energy in a fresh, fruit-forward package. The 2023 vintage is especially vibrant, bursting with flavor while staying light on its feet.

Wild raspberry, black cherry, and a touch of plum lead the way, with hints of garrigue, cracked pepper, and a whisper of smoke. Stéphane Robert planted vines in 1994 inside an actual 170-meter railway tunnel carved into the Ardèche—the name isn't marketing, it's literal. From this quirky home, he pulls Cornas Syrah of real architecture—mineral, structured, demanding food and patience. The tunnel keeps temperature and humidity constant, creating ideal aging conditions. A winemaker who understands that great wine doesn't need a story, but a tunnel doesn't hurt. These are serious reds that taste like they know their origins.
