Armand Heitz is just 30 years old and has been making wine from his family's vineyards since 2011. The vineyards include some of the top parcels in and around Chassagne-Montrachet that have been purchased by his family over many generations. Until Armand began making wine under the family label most of the fruit was sold to Drouhin.

Indeed, Drouhin helped Armand's mother begin the conversion of the family's holdings to organic and biodynamic practices and Armand continued the process and now farms everything 100% biodynamically. In the cellar he is meticulous and careful, preferring to make the wines with as little intervention as possible. He wants his wines to showcase the clean, pure fruit and mineral terroirs of the vineyards that he so carefully maintains.

Given that pedigree it’s no wonder that the critics and collectors have begun to pay attention. But Armand isn’t a typical Burgundian producer, he is right at home with the more playful side of wine and has always been drawn to the natural wine scene (not surprising for a 30 year old Frenchman).
