"Bright ruby-red. Knockout nose combines red- and blackcurrant, blueberry, graphite minerality and licorice lifted by a violet topnote. Very dry, penetrating and sharply delineated but utterly fine-grained too, with its savory dark berry flavors framed and energized by violet and minerals. Boasts rare nobility of texture and a light touch to its urgent fruit. The wine's fine, dusty tannins expand to saturate the mouth on the vibrant, rising, extremely long back end. A great Washington Cabernet in the making, but give it time." -Vinous

"The 2016 Cabernet Sauvignon Grand Ciel gives up aromas of subtle black and blue fruits on the nose—cassis, blackberry, dusty boysenberry and plum jam—over an elegant core of red and black spice, along with notes of black tea and a dusty rockiness. On the palate, the wine is clean and focused, with a complex fruit expression—precise and focused every step of the way. This represents one of Washington's best Cabernet bottlings. With only 250 cases produced, if you have not yet tried the Grand Ciel Cabernet from DeLille, this is worth the effort to seek some out." -Robert Parker
