Riesling is one of the great values in wine, and Incline proves it. It's made by Johannes Selbach of the renowned Mosel estate Selbach-Oster, drawing on fruit from the steep slate slopes that make the Mosel one of the world's benchmark Riesling regions — the name is a nod to those punishing gradients. Fermented in stainless steel to keep it fresh and zesty, it carries just a hint of residual sugar: green apple and citrus with real slate bite, balanced by vibrant acidity. It's the kind of white you can pour all week without thinking about it, and it makes almost any dinner better.

More about J&H Selbach

J. & H. Selbach is the Selbach family's old-style merchant house in Zeltingen, on the Middle Mosel, registered in 1920 by brothers Josef and Hubert Selbach. Rather than farming its own vines, it buys musts and wines year after year from the same trusted growers on individual sites, and the family also acts as commission agents at the region's top auctions. It is the sister business of the family's Selbach-Oster estate, and the Rieslings show the same classic Mosel elegance at friendlier prices.

Green apple, white peach and lemon zest with wet-slate minerality. Light-bodied and just off-dry, the touch of sweetness balanced by zesty acidity, with a clean, mineral finish.

WINE GUIDES

German Wines

Is there a better grape than Riesling? Is there a better value? Its fruit purity, its perfume, and its mineral nuance are all unparalleled. And for centuries, the top German Rieslings were priced accordingly: at least as expensive as the top red wines of Bordeaux and Burgundy. But nowadays you could spend a lifetime exploring Germany’s great Riesling-producing regions while staying well within your budget. You might take an occasional break to try Germany’s other white grapes or perhaps a glass of Spätburgunder (the local name for Pinot Noir). It’s time to get started!
