Giacomo Fenocchio is an unsung traditionalist who ages everything in large Slavonian casks and bottles his sites separately, and Flatiron has called his Castellero the perfect vehicle for learning a cru few people know. Located in the commune of Barolo, Castellero tends toward a refined, aromatic, mid-weight style. The 2013 was a glorious, structured classic vintage that Flatiron singled out to show this producer at his best. Now maturing, it drinks well with a decant and will continue to develop.
