Domaine de la Bastide, Cotes du Rhone Figue, 2023
is backordered and will ship as soon as it is back in stock.
Domaine de la Bastide has quietly become one of the best-kept secrets in the Southern Rhône. Family-run and fully estate-grown, they farm organically in Visan, a lesser-known village with serious terroir cred. The 'Figue' cuvée gets its name from the fig trees that once filled the vineyard—a nod to the land’s roots and the lush, ripe character of the wine.
Made from old-vine Syrah and Grenache, this is classic Côtes du Rhône with just a little extra: more depth, more polish, and a savory, sun-drenched core that speaks to its Provençal setting. Blackberry and plum fruit lead the way, but it’s the herbal lift—thyme, lavender, cracked pepper—that gives it real dimension. There’s structure too, but it’s wrapped in velvety tannins and balanced by a fresh, food-friendly finish.
Fermented with native yeasts and aged in tank, this is Southern Rhône wine with soul and integrity, built for casual dinners and second pours.
Pair with: lamb burgers, ratatouille, or just a hunk of Comté and a sunset.
