Old vines change everything in Chablis. The Picq family's Vieilles Vignes is a village-level bottling drawn from their most mature parcels — vines whose deep roots and lower yields deliver an extra dimension of concentration and depth that younger vines simply can't match. Didier and Pascal Picq farm these Kimmeridgian clay-limestone plots with care, ferment with indigenous yeasts, and raise the wine in stainless steel to keep the focus squarely on stone, salt, and fruit purity. The 2024 is everything you want from old-vine Chablis: more weight on the palate than the basic village bottling, more length on the finish, more textural interest, but never at the expense of that signature Chablis tension. A serious bottle at a friendly price — and proof that village Chablis from the right hands can hold its own with the big names.

"The 2024 Chablis Vieilles Vignes, which comes from vines planted in the 1950s, has a perfumed nose that's a little "broader" than the Vaudécorse. It's nuanced with melon and almond scents. The palate is fresh, vibrant and poised, with a citric line of acidity and just the right amount of bitterness on the finish. I absolutely love this—it's the dark horse the vintage. The 2024 is superb." —Neal Martin

Tasting Notes & Food Pairings

Perfect Pairings

Built for the rich end of the seafood spectrum — lobster with drawn butter, scallops with cauliflower purée, sole meunière, smoked trout, or roasted chicken with lemon and herbs. Also great with aged Comté.

Tasting Profile

Deeper and broader than basic village Chablis — orchard fruit, lemon curd, and white peach with a stony, saline core. Old vines bring weight and length without sacrificing electric acidity or that signature Chablis cut.
