A single-vineyard Gran Selezione from Istine, where Angela Fronti began bottling her top sites at the category's highest tier with the 2022 vintage. 'Elle' comes from Lamole, one of the highest-elevation corners of Chianti Classico, known for fragrant, mineral, racy Sangiovese; like all of Istine's reds, it's 100% Sangiovese, made the traditional way with long maceration and aging in large neutral botti so the site, not the oak, speaks. Fronti's transparent, high-altitude wines are some of Chianti Classico's most exciting, and this is one of her flagships. A serious bottle from a Flatiron favorite.
