Though labeled Bourgogne Blanc, Murgey de Limozin sits just below Meursault’s village line—and it shows. Pierre Boisson, part of the Boisson-Vadot family, is known for crafting whites that channel the depth and minerality of top-tier Côte de Beaune terroir without the showiness. The 2021 vintage, cooler and more classical in style, gives this wine beautiful precision and drive.

Lemon curd, green apple, and white peach unfold slowly, grounded by crushed oyster shell, hazelnut, and a faint buttery whisper from perfectly judged oak. The palate is tight but textured, with sharp acidity and a chalky finish that lingers and evolves in the glass. Drink it now with a good decant or cellar a few years—it’s got the bones. A steal for white Burgundy lovers who know where to look.

Domaine Boisson-Vadot is a small estate that has been producing classic Meursault for about 200 years. The family holdings are under different ownership (per confusing French inheritance laws) hence the different label names (Pierre, Bernard and Anne). But everything is made at the estate, with Pierre doing much of the heavy lifting these days. Pierre is also known to compare notes and talk shop frequently with his school age buddy Raphael Coche.

There's no secret to the formula here. Just excellent vineyard management, mostly old vines and careful cellar work. The Boissons are very judicious with new oak and do little to no battonage during the long elevage. This results in clean, precise and beautifully transparent wines.

While Burgundy offers many great trophies from top producers in well-known villages like Vosne Romanee and Puligny Montrachet, it also offers excellent values to anyone willing to explore beyond the famous names. Our collection– one of the largest in the U.S. – has plenty of both!

From the very basics of Burgundy's regions and wines to the specific terroirs of individual single vineyards--
