A Sancerre called "Intro" that lives up to the name: an easy way into one of the Loire's classic Sauvignon Blanc appellations, from a family with more than three centuries of winemaking behind it. Vignobles Patrice Moreux brings together the Corty and Moreux families, who have made wine since the 17th century. Edme Corty founded a small estate in Pouilly back in 1677. Patrice took over the family house in 1979. Brothers Arnaud and Julien now make the wines themselves and keep intervention to a minimum, which suits an appellation whose appeal is a clean, dry Sauvignon Blanc. When someone asks us what Sancerre is all about, this is the kind of bottle we hand them: nothing showy, just a family that has been at this a very long time.

"The 2025 Sancerre Intro is pure, clean and finely textured with a tender, fleshy mid-palate. The bouquet is attractive and detailed but fairly restrained with florals and citrus elements. Elegant." —Rebecca Gibb MW

More about Corty Artisan

Corty Artisan is the Pouilly-Fumé range of Domaine Moreux, uniting two old vigneron families: Edme Corty founded a small holding in Pouilly in 1677, and André Moreux bought vines in Sancerre in 1702. Twin brothers Arnaud and Julien Moreux took over from their father Patrice, ferment with native yeasts and farm as free of chemicals as possible. Their Sauvignon Blancs are bottled by soil: Caillottes from fossil-rich limestone, Silex from flint, and the flagship La Loge aux Moines. Loire Sauvignon Blanc from people who know exactly what they're doing.
