Professional Reviews

Antonio Galloni

AG 94
"The 2023 Chablis Les Butteaux 1er Cru is now around 0.52 hectares as the original part was augmented with a new 0.20-hectare plot. This has a reserved bouquet, fine delineation, hints of white fruit, Granny Smith and crushed stone. The palate is much more expressive with good concentration, tightly wound, fine acidity, and a hint of lemongrass popping up on the finish. I bet this would blossom with 24 hours' aeration upon which my score is based." -Neal Martin

Robert Parker

RP 94
"Issuing from two plots planted with massal selection in 1956 and 1962, totaling 0.5 hectares, Eleni & Edouard Vocoret’s 2023 Chablis 1er Cru Les Butteaux is the most incisive and linear wine in the range. Exhibiting notes of green apple, oyster shell and lemon zest, it’s medium to full-bodied, bright and tense, retaining plenty of classically Chablisien character, and concludes with a pure, searingly saline and precise finish. It is well worth seeking out." -Kristaps Karklins

Focus On: Burgundy

Burgundy has long been the world's most famous wine region. But, underneath all the prestige, this region can be hard to get to know.

While Burgundy offers many great trophies from top producers in well-known villages like Vosne Romanee and Puligny Montrachet, it also offers excellent values to anyone willing to explore beyond the famous names. Our collection– one of the largest in the U.S. – has plenty of both!

From the very basics of Burgundy's regions and wines to the specific terroirs of individual single vineyards--
everything you need to know about Bourgogne is just a click away!
