Asili sits on the gentler, more perfumed side of the Barbaresco spectrum, known for elegance, florality and finesse rather than brute power. The 2016 was a stunning, benchmark vintage — prized for its transparency and precise structure across the board — and in Asili it produces a Riserva of extraordinary floral perfume, clarity and drive. Tasting Profile

Expect the perfumed, elegant side of Barbaresco: violets, dried flowers, red cherry and raspberry, with hints of tar, dried herbs and spice from long ageing in large oak. Medium-bodied but firmly structured, with bright acidity and fine, grippy Nebbiolo tannins that soften with time, it typically finishes long and dry. Think a more fragrant, finer-boned Barolo, built to age.
