"This is a first bottling of the NV Amontillado Extra Balbaína from almacenista Juan García Jarana. It's a wine they plan to bottle every year, and this first saca from September 2025 (1,300 bottles) shows nutty notes with the ethereal part of Jerez. The wine is quite static—it's only moved once per year—shy and elegant. The almacenista always sources this wine from the same vineyard, La Blanquita in Balbaína, averaging now 15 years of age, but the wine shows complexity and depth of an older wine, with a gentle and very saline palate, very apt for the table. 94pts" — Luis Gutiérrez, The Wine Advocate
