91 points John Gilman:"This seems a bit more precise and racy in personality than the Perrières, offering up a very pure bouquet of pear, tangerine, a touch of nuttiness, iodine and a topnote of apple blossoms. On the palate the wine is deep, full-bodied and quite a bit more racy in personality than the above, with a good core, a nice dollop of backend minerality and very good length and grip. This is still a bit more forward in personality than the Meursaults here, but it is a lovely wine in the making. (Drink between 2017-2035)

Professional Reviews

Burghound

BH 91
"Moderate reduction obliterates the fruit though citrus wisps can be discerned that continue onto the rich, round and solidly concentrated flavors that possess a seductive texture, all wrapped in a slightly more complex and persistent finish."

Antonio Galloni

AG 91
"Ripe pear and an element of reduction on the nose. Denser and more expressive than the Saint-Aubin Les Perrières, with its more intense fruit enlivened by enticing mineral-driven acidity. At once fruitier and lighter on its feet than the Saint-Aubin Les Perrières. Fine-grained wine with sexy saline minerality."

Robert Parker

"The 2015 Saint Aubin 1er Cru Sous la Sentier du Clous was showing a touch of reduction on the nose, although it showed more complexity than the Les Perrières, a bit more ambition. The palate is fresh and vibrant with crisp acidity, a hint of nutmeg and spice here with good density and length on the finish. I suspect it will drink straight from bottling, but could age with style. This is one to watch." -Neal Martin

Decanter

D 90
"Notes of peach, pear and hazelnut, marked by subtle reduction, lead into a more concentrated and textured palate with lots of cut through the taut finish."

Burgundy has long been the world's most famous wine region. But, underneath all the prestige, this region can be hard to get to know.

While Burgundy offers many great trophies from top producers in well-known villages like Vosne Romanee and Puligny Montrachet, it also offers excellent values to anyone willing to explore beyond the famous names. Our collection– one of the largest in the U.S. – has plenty of both!

From the very basics of Burgundy's regions and wines to the specific terroirs of individual single vineyards--
