Armand Heitz has developed a reputation for crafting Burgundy with a modern classicist's touch—farming organically, using minimal intervention, and allowing terroir to shine. His Meursault 1er Cru “Les Perrières” is a standout white Burgundy, sourced from one of the most revered Premier Cru sites in the Côte de Beaune—often spoken of in Grand Cru terms.

The 2022 vintage was ripe and sunny, but Heitz’s winemaking style leans toward restraint and finesse. The wine is fermented with native yeasts, aged in used French oak barrels (typically with a low percentage of new wood), and bottled with minimal sulfur. Farming at Perrières is conducted without herbicides or synthetic treatments, and the resulting wine reflects the high-altitude, stony soils of the site with laser precision.

Expect a tense, mineral Chardonnay with flavors of citrus peel, white flowers, crushed rock, and a touch of hazelnut. It’s linear and structured, built for aging, and will reward time in the cellar with greater depth and complexity.

Burgundy has long been the world's most famous wine region. But, underneath all the prestige, this region can be hard to get to know.

While Burgundy offers many great trophies from top producers in well-known villages like Vosne Romanee and Puligny Montrachet, it also offers excellent values to anyone willing to explore beyond the famous names. Our collection– one of the largest in the U.S. – has plenty of both!

From the very basics of Burgundy's regions and wines to the specific terroirs of individual single vineyards--
everything you need to know about Bourgogne is just a click away!
