“Les Barreaux” is a small, steep lieu-dit in Vosne-Romanée, perched just above Richebourg and Cros Parantoux, with thin soils and great exposure. It’s known for making refined, floral Pinots with mineral tension, and under the revived Domaine du Couvent label, this 2017 bottling captures the site beautifully.

The wine opens with rose petal, red cherry, and warm spice, followed by a silky palate that walks the line between delicacy and depth. The 2017 vintage brings elegance and early approachability, but there’s enough grip and structure here to suggest a few more years in the cellar will only add complexity.

A perfect Vosne for those who prefer grace over flash—ideal with duck, game birds, or mushroom-laced dishes.
